NGC 4111 & NGC 4143 -- Lenticular Galaxies in Canes Venatici
Big Core -- Thin Disk
The nearly edge-on Lenticular Galaxy, NGC 4111, had a core that seemed bright and
overextended. In comparison the dim thin disk was almost invisible and required a little
time to confirm with confidence. Nearby was another Lenticular Galaxy NGC 4143
(magnitude 11.8) which appeared as a soft spherical glow showing no details.
